    Biography of Genzebe Dibaba

    Genzebe Dibaba Keneni was born on February 8, 1991, in Bekoji, Arsi, Ethiopia.

    She comes from a family of talented runners, with her sister Tirunesh Dibaba being a three-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion in the 5000m and 10,000m events. Her sister Ejegayehu Dibaba also won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in the 10,000m event, and her cousin Derartu Tulu is a former Olympic champion.

    Early Career

    Genzebe Dibaba first rose to prominence as a junior athlete, winning the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2008 and 2009.
